Position Summary
Metrea’s People Business Partners are true advocates and consultants to the enterprise. They’re focused on building and driving strategic People initiatives that increase organizational effectiveness, maximize individual and team potential, and capitalize on our high-performance culture. All while leaning into People-related challenges to advise our leaders on the best possible solutions.
Success in this role requires a commitment to building productive relationships with key business leaders, while also advising on processes, policies, and procedures. Both as a tactical expert and strategic thought partner, you’ll have the opportunity to influence and contribute directly to the company’s success.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues as a Human Resource Business Partner, People Business Partner, or HR Director role.
Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
Certificates And Licenses
Professional in Human Resources or SHRM-CP preferred, but not required.
Computer Skills: Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite Programs and HRIS.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require.
Travel
Ability to travel a minimum of 25% of the time.
Work Location
Hybrid, however, must be on-site Annapolis Junction office 3-4 days/week.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Leverage a consultative approach with business leaders while advising on best-practice approaches to People and Talent strategy.
- Provide guidance on policy, procedures and complex employment matters.
- Manage new hire onboarding programs to drive early assimilation and productivity.
- Support benefits related actions throughout the entire employee lifecycle, from new hire enrollment through annual open enrollment and ad hoc employee questions.
- Manage employee relations actions, including but not limited to, employment verifications, leaves of absence, FMLA, employee counseling, and exit interviews.
- Develop, coach, and manage both directly and indirectly People Generalists, supporting them with day-to-day employee requests and challenges.
- Direct and process day-to-day payroll operations to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
- Ensure internal controls and standard operating procedures are being adhered to within the assigned Business Units.
- Assist People Operations with legal compliance by monitoring applicable People federal and state requirements for the assigned Business Units.
- Leads and ensures compliance of training programs for all employees within assigned Business Units.
- Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned in relation to the People function.

Salary : $110,000 - $130,000
