The position of People Business Partner is responsible for providing HR-related support to people managers and individual contributors.
Essential Functions
- Provide excellent customer service to employees, mainly through the People Operations ticket system, in responding to questions and resolving support requests on a wide range of HR-related topics, such as performance, workplace relations and complaints.
- Support the implementation and ongoing management of HR strategies and programs within assigned departments, including onboarding, culture, employee experience and performance management.
- Understand the entire talent system and each stage of the employee lifecycle; apply understanding to support and even recommend solutions that are aligned with business strategy and company culture.
- Participate in the strategic goal setting of the HR department and potentially own parts of department roadmap initiatives.
- Cultivate transparent feedback loop to provide business inputs and feedback to the Head of HR to improve the effectiveness and relevance of HR policies, programs and services.
- Utilize human resource expertise, business best practices, and company policy to provide coaching to people managers.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and department leaders to design and improve onboarding programs. Ensure onboarding processes align with organizational goals, culture, and compliance requirements. Act as a key stakeholder in ensuring a smooth transition for new hires. Ensure consistency in orientation practices across departments or regions.
- Work with the executive leadership on a variety of different company culture initiatives at the new office in Columbia, MD.
Education and Experience
- 2 or more years of relevant and progressively complex work experience in multiple human resource disciplines.
- 2 or more years of experience participating in cross-functional teams or projects requiring strong collaboration, facilitation and negotiation skills.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- SHRM certification preferred.
- Experience in a high growth, rapidly changing technology and/or education environment preferred.
