VDC / BIM Engineer specialist

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated BIM / VDC Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing BIM/VDC processes across the entire project lifecycle, ensuring efficient, collaborative design, planning, and construction workflows. This role requires an individual with a strong technical background, experience in BIM tools, and a passion for utilizing technology to enhance project delivery and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage 3D models using BIM software (e.g., Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360) to support design, coordination, and construction efforts.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to ensure that the BIM models align with project requirements and design intent.
- Implement VDC processes to integrate BIM, project scheduling, cost management, and project delivery systems.
- Perform clash detection and resolution, identifying design discrepancies early to avoid costly changes during construction.
- Manage BIM execution plans, ensuring that the standards and procedures for BIM/VDC are consistently followed.
- Assist with the creation of construction simulations and visualizations to communicate project status, risks, and sequencing.
- Monitor and maintain the accuracy and integrity of project data across all BIM/VDC platforms.
- Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to BIM/VDC workflows and tools for greater efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- 5 years of experience in BIM/VDC coordination or management within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and BIM 360.
- Strong understanding of VDC processes, including 3D/4D/5D modelling, clash detection, construction sequencing, and virtual construction simulations.
- Knowledge of construction methods, design workflows, and project delivery.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with cloud-based BIM collaboration platforms (e.g., BIM 360, Procore, Revizto).
- Certification in BIM or VDC-related software/tools is a plus (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional).
- Experience with construction scheduling software (e.g., Primavera, Microsoft Project).
Salary : $65,000 - $100,000
