Schmidt Associates is looking for a BIM Administrator! The BIM Administrator position will provide accurate and efficient BIM administration for project teams and outside consultants. To follow BIM standards and to actively participate in the development and improvement of new standards and Building Information Models. It requires a strong competency in administrative support for design projects and good working knowledge of MS Office, Deltek Vision and Newforma, as well as the ability to perform in a self-directed manner.
Responsibilities:
- Provide attractive, efficient, accurate 3D models, BIM graphics and data integration.
- Assist Project Managers and Project Architects / Engineers in entering base architectural and engineering plans from existing Plan Drawings.
- Develop designs in coordinated, efficient, accurate 3D models, Revit A/MEP and BIM graphics.
- Create Revit content with relevant project information integrated for use in scheduling.
- Aid in Project setup of existing models and project specific setups (Phasing/Parameters).
- Setup/Administer project for automation in BIM 360, Clarity, and Newforma and other integrated platforms.
- Perform work accurately and efficiently.
- Provide dependable, timely, and consistent work.
- Utilize problem-solving techniques: identify the issues and problems, establish criteria, and develop alternatives.
- Assist with the assembly of drawings for all disciplines.
- Understand how to use the BIM library.
- Achieve high competence of BIM execution.
- Assist in the improvement and maintenance of the BIM library/Content.
- Assist with the development of the BIM / Revit processes and resources.
- Be a resource for staff in the daily operations of the BIM software.
- Help identify training needs across project teams.
Competencies:
- Detail-oriented, good communication skills and even better listener.
- Ability to Assemble BIM Models at varied levels of detail.
- Understand BIM standards and library, modeling standards and the Revit /BIM library.
- Working knowledge of Revit family editing and custom content development.
- Experience running collision detection reports to identify coordination issues.
- Knowledge of Dynamo and scripting software.
- Knowledge of Shared Coordinates functionality within Revit and AutoCAD.
- Maintain the organization of views and elements within the Building Information Model
Experience/Education:
- 2yr Associate’s Degree or higher
- 2-6 years of experience in the AEC industry.
