They are seeking an experienced Cost Manager to join their team in New York City. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in cost estimating, budgeting, and financial management for corporate and commercial interior fit-out projects. As a key member of the team, you will work closely with clients, project managers, and contractors to ensure cost control and financial transparency across all project phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage project budgets, cost plans, and financial forecasts for corporate and commercial interior fit-outs.
- Conduct detailed cost estimates, procurement analysis, and value engineering exercises.
- Review contractor bids, change orders, and payment applications to ensure cost compliance.
- Provide cost benchmarking, market analysis, and financial risk assessments.
- Collaborate with project teams, designers, and stakeholders to optimize project costs while maintaining quality and design intent.
- Assist in contract negotiations and procurement strategies to maximize client value.
- Monitor project expenditures and provide regular financial reporting to clients.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines and budget constraints through proactive cost management.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 2 years of experience in cost management, estimating, or quantity surveying within the corporate/commercial interiors sector.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of construction cost structures, procurement strategies, and contract administration.
- Proficiency in cost estimating software and financial tracking tools.
- Experience working within an owner’s rep, cost consultancy, or general contractor environment preferred.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills to effectively present cost analysis and recommendations.
