Regional Superintendent - Data Center Construction
Location: Midwest Region (IA, IL, IN)
Metric Geo are searching for a Regional Superintendent to oversee projects across the Midwest area. This role is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and execution of field operations. The position includes overseeing multiple projects, managing field personnel, ensuring safety compliance, optimizing project timelines and budgets, and maintaining high-quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Establish policies and procedures for field supervision and manpower, ensuring projects remain within budget and are set up for success.
- Facilitate clear communication between the field and project management teams, as well as among projects.
- Monitor the health of projects by reviewing KPIs, loaders/EVMs, schedules, and projections.
- Review and evaluate KPIs/loaders/projections for all projects to ensure alignment with goals.
- Coach, mentor, and train both field and office employees, fostering respect and motivation.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to optimize field operations, aligning with organizational objectives and client needs.
- Oversee field supervisors, electricians, and field personnel, providing guidance and support.
- Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and other stakeholders to plan and schedule operations for timely, budget-compliant project delivery.
- Enforce adherence to safety protocols, regulations, and quality standards across all projects.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to assess progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage resource allocation, equipment usage, and inventory to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Promote continuous improvement by integrating best practices, training programs, and new technologies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Participate in preconstruction meetings, aligning manpower needs with estimates and schedules.
- Hold weekly meetings with supervisors to review project progress, including labor, safety, constraints, and productivity.
- Conduct one-on-one meetings with key supervisors, project management teams, and executives to address project issues and concerns.
- Ensure consistent communication across projects and with construction, commissioning, quality, and safety teams.
- Understand and adhere to local CBAs and other union requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or Journeyman Wireman License.
- 10 years of electrical supervision experience.
- 15 years of construction industry experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA and Department of Labor standards.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical equipment, components, and safety controls.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Proven supervisory and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Bluebeam, Dropbox, OneDrive, Smart Sheets, Procore, and PlanGrid.
- In-depth understanding of electrical systems, codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
