Metrics is seeking a highly experienced Acquisition Specialist - Information Systems to support a federal agency’s Center for Information Technology. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software management, procurement, and IT acquisitions, with the ability to manage contracts, vendors, and large-scale IT asset distribution.
This is a remote position, but candidates located in the Washington, D.C. area are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end procurement and acquisition of information systems, software, and IT resources.
- Develop and implement strategies for IT asset management, procurement planning, and distribution.
- Ensure compliance with federal acquisition regulations and agency-specific procurement policies.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and performance to ensure service quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Assess technical requirements for IT systems acquisitions, ensuring alignment with agency needs.
- Maintain detailed documentation of procurement processes, acquisition strategies, and contract performance.
- Provide expert recommendations on scalability, process improvements, and risk mitigation in IT acquisitions.
- Support high-volume and fluctuating workloads, ensuring efficiency in IT procurement and distribution.
Requirements
- 8 years of senior-level experience in IT procurement, software management, and federal acquisitions.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale IT contracts, procurement workflows, and distribution strategies.
- Strong understanding of federal acquisition regulations (FAR), procurement compliance, and IT supply chain management.
- Experience working in fast-paced environments, managing multiple acquisition projects under strict deadlines.
- Ability to analyze, negotiate, and oversee vendor agreements, ensuring cost-effective IT solutions.
- Proficiency in developing procurement strategies, performance metrics, and acquisition documentation.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills to manage complex IT acquisitions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven track record of successful performance in IT acquisition roles for federal agencies.
- Certifications in contract management, IT procurement, or supply chain management.
- Familiarity with enterprise IT asset management systems and procurement tools.
