Position Overview
Our award-winning client, a recognized leader in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, is seeking an experienced Associate Director, Contract Channel Implementation to spearhead the strategic development of distribution networks. This pivotal role focuses on ensuring efficient, reliable, and secure delivery of therapies to patients and caregivers while adhering to the highest industry standards.
As the Associate Director, you will drive the development and execution of strategies for wholesale, specialty distribution, and hybrid channel models. Key responsibilities include negotiating agreements, analyzing distribution performance, and fostering strong partnerships with distribution partners to adapt to market dynamics and enhance patient access.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Development & Execution:
- Lead the creation and implementation of distribution strategies tailored to product needs and patient accessibility goals.
- Negotiate and manage distribution service agreements with wholesalers, specialty distributors, and specialty pharmacies in compliance with organizational objectives and regulatory standards.
- Develop service-level agreements focusing on data accuracy, compliance, and patient service expectations.
Collaboration & Analytics:
- Partner with cross-functional teams to perform financial modeling and distribution performance analysis to inform strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with sourcing teams to manage RFI and RFP processes for selecting distribution partners.
Monitoring & Adaptation:
- Oversee trading partner performance, identify market shifts, and refine distribution strategies as needed.
- Stay ahead of evolving market trends to ensure strategies remain relevant and effective.
Relationship Building:
- Cultivate strong partnerships with wholesalers, specialty distributors, and specialty pharmacies to ensure optimal service delivery.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in market access or related fields, including at least 3 years of contracting experience.
- At least 2 years in program or account management.
- Six Sigma Greenbelt certification is a plus.
Expertise:
- Deep understanding of trade operations, specialty pharmacy processes, and pharmaceutical regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to manage distribution partner performance and adjust strategies in response to market trends.
- Familiarity with retail and specialty pharmacy operations is highly desirable.
Skills:
- Proficiency in financial modeling, distribution analytics, and project management.
- Strong negotiation and leadership skills with a track record of successfully leading initiatives from inception to implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with key distribution partners.
