Position Overview
The Digital Verification Engineer will be responsible for FPGA verification and testing in an advanced embedded system environment. This role requires expertise in coverage-driven verification methodologies, System Verilog, and UVM test bench frameworks. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to interpret requirements, create test specifications, and ensure designs meet rigorous industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct FPGA verification and validation for embedded communication systems.
- Develop and implement verification test plans based on system specifications.
- Create self-checking test benches using System Verilog to validate functionality and reliability.
- Design Agents, Test Sequences, Cover Groups, Predictors, and Scoreboards for functional verification.
- Develop both directed and randomized tests to meet functional coverage objectives.
- Provide feedback to design teams to improve verification strategies.
- Conduct technical design reviews and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and validate product and system requirements.
- Maintain an active SECRET security clearance for secure project work.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with at least six years of relevant experience, OR
- Master’s degree with at least four years of relevant experience, OR
- At least ten years of directly related FPGA/ASIC verification experience in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Skills & Expertise:
- Strong ability to analyze and debug FPGA firmware and hardware issues.
- Experience working with Ethernet standards and packet processing.
- Familiarity with cryptographic algorithms and embedded cryptographic solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Mentor Graphics Verification tools.
- Background in FPGA/ASIC RTL design.
- Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (C , Java).
- Expertise in FPGA/ASIC verification using System Verilog.
- Working knowledge of UVM/OVM methodologies.
- Experience with functional verification tools and coverage metric reporting.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, Python, and Tcl.
- Familiarity with Linux-based operating systems.
- Strong understanding of industry-standard interfaces such as Ethernet, AXI, and SPI.
- Excellent technical writing skills with the ability to convey complex concepts.
- Self-motivated, adaptable team player with a problem-solving mindset.
