Job Summary:
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Engineering Manager will guide the engineering team, ensuring efficient design, implementation, and upkeep of production systems. This essential role drives continuous improvement efforts and leads various engineering projects to improve operational efficiency. By fostering teamwork and innovation, the Engineering Manager will significantly influence the plant's overall success and productivity.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- At least 5 years of experience in a high-paced manufacturing environment
- Prior experience in engineering within manufacturing settings
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Leadership or managerial experience
- Familiarity with managing budgets and P&L responsibility
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and machinery
Technical Skills Required:
- Proficient in engineering principles and problem-solving techniques
- Expertise in safety regulations and quality control standards
- Familiar with Kaizen or continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience in process optimization, scrap reduction, and cost reduction strategies

Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure Compliance & Safety: Lead the enforcement of health, safety, and environmental standards within Hydro Extrusion operations, with a primary focus on meeting and exceeding safety requirements to maintain a zero-accident workplace.
- Foster Financial Growth: Oversee financial metrics, ensuring the alignment of production goals with cost management strategies, while keeping track of program costs and adjusting operations as needed to meet financial targets.
- Lead Customer Engagement: Serve as the main liaison for clients, building and nurturing relationships across all organizational levels to ensure a clear understanding of program requirements and objectives.
- Continuous Improvement: Spearhead initiatives aimed at improving production efficiency, cost reduction, and process optimization using methodologies such as Kaizen.
- Monitor Quality Assurance: Ensure that production processes adhere to strict safety, quality, and manufacturing standards, ensuring top-quality product outcomes.
- Technology Development: Research and develop innovative technologies that drive operational efficiency, improve processes, and reduce costs within the manufacturing environment.
- Assist in Product Launches: Play a crucial role in new product introductions by providing necessary resources such as staffing, equipment, and process flow management.
- Training & Skill Development: Lead training and skill development programs for the engineering team to enhance their capabilities and keep them updated with industry advancements.
- Scrap Reduction: Champion initiatives designed to reduce scrap and enhance overall productivity throughout the plant.
- Support in Commercial Matters: Assist in negotiations related to pricing and commercial matters, ensuring beneficial agreements for all parties.
