Position Overview:
The Maintenance Manager will play a critical role in overseeing the maintenance department, focusing on the upkeep and performance of equipment, buildings, and facilities. As a leader within the plant, you will be responsible for implementing best practices, driving improvements, and managing a dedicated team of skilled technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Supervision: Oversee and guide a team of maintenance personnel, delegating tasks to ensure maximum productivity and performance across equipment, buildings, and grounds.
- Problem Solving & Troubleshooting: Identify, analyze, and resolve maintenance or process issues, implementing action plans to improve equipment reliability and uptime.
- Maintenance & Repairs: Ensure the efficient upkeep of production equipment, facilities, and infrastructure, updating and repairing systems as necessary to maintain optimal operations.
- Cost & Budget Management: Develop and manage the department's budget, ensuring effective cost control measures are in place.
- Safety & Environmental Practices: Enforce and support compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations, maintaining the highest standards of workplace safety.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives for reliability-focused maintenance and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), driving ongoing improvement processes within the team.
- Training & Development: Facilitate team training and development programs, empowering employees to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Inventory & Fleet Management: Oversee mobile equipment fleet operations and storeroom inventory, ensuring materials and equipment are appropriately maintained and accessible.
- Project Support: Participate in the execution of capital projects, ensuring timely and effective completion in alignment with plant goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field, with 3 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment, or
- Journeyman's Card, with 5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing maintenance, or
- Technical Degree (2-year) in a maintenance-related field, with 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Leadership & Management Experience:
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of 10 hourly employees, handling performance evaluations, resource allocation, hiring, and terminations.
- Change Management: Proven ability to facilitate change and drive improvements in a manufacturing environment.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills with a track record of successful project execution.
Skills & Competencies:
- Communication: Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Safety & Compliance: In-depth understanding of safety and environmental protocols, with the ability to implement and monitor compliance.
- Analytical Skills: Solid analytical capabilities with experience in improving equipment performance and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with maintenance scheduling and management systems.
- Emergency Response: Ability to respond to emergency situations outside normal working hours when necessary.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
