Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret blueprints, specifications, and designs for accurate cost estimation
- Perform material takeoffs and develop pricing proposals for paving/asphalt projects
- Oversee project scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, and resource planning
- Ensure quality control, safety compliance, and adherence to deadlines on job sites
- Collaborate with clients, engineers, and vendors for seamless project execution
- Mitigate risk and troubleshoot issues to keep projects on track
- Provide progress updates to internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
- 3 years in estimating, plan reading, or project management in paving, asphalt, or construction
- Civil engineering background preferred but not required with strong field experience
- Proficiency in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage tasks independently and perform effectively in a team environment
- Willingness to travel locally within a 1-hour radius of Charlotte, NC
Work Environment
- Hybrid role with flexibility to work remotely on estimating and office-based tasks
- On-site project management required for projects across Mecklenburg County and surrounding areas
- All projects are within approximately 1 hour of Charlotte—no extensive travel required
