Position Summary
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to lead and enhance the Quality Assurance (QA) system, ensuring compliance with AS9100 standards and the company’s Quality Assurance Manual. This role requires a dynamic leader with experience in manufacturing or industrial environments, a strong background in quality management processes, and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the Quality Assurance team to optimize efficiency and performance.
- Oversee hiring, training, and performance evaluations within the department.
- Recommend salary adjustments and career development opportunities for staff.
Quality Systems & Process Improvement
- Develop and implement procedures for product inspection, disposition, and record retention.
- Lead root cause analysis for non-conformance issues and establish corrective actions for process improvement.
- Track and analyze non-conformance costs, using statistical systems and data-driven process control.
- Organize and lead management reviews on quality issues, corrective actions, and process improvements.
Compliance & Auditing
- Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and industry regulations.
- Manage customer and accreditation audits, continuously improving internal audit systems.
- Develop and lead preventative quality training programs for employees.
Customer & Operations Support
- Work closely with customers and operations teams to enhance product quality and meet project objectives.
- Oversee the Gage Calibration System, ensuring compliance and improving inspection methods.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality or a related field from an accredited institution.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years in quality management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Manufacturing or distribution experience preferred.
Skills & Certifications
- Strong understanding of aerospace product/process specifications (AMS, ASTM, etc.).
- Expertise in quality management principles (SPC, TQM, MRB).
- Knowledge of product and process failure analysis.
- Preferred Certifications:
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
- Certified Quality Manager (CQM/OE)
- Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE)
- Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB)
