Job Summary
The Program Specialist is responsible for supporting financial operations, including financial report writing, cost accounting, and account analysis. This role requires strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of corporate finance principles to ensure compliance with GAAP standards while managing accounts payable and financial statement preparation.
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Program Financial Analyst to join their aerospace and defense team. This role involves overseeing complex financial projects and ensuring the accuracy of Earned Value Management (EVM) data across multiple programs. The ideal candidate will have expertise in financial forecasting, program management, and proficiency in tools such as COBRA and SAP.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the integrity of Earned Value Management (EVM) data across multiple programs.
- Perform financial forecasting, variance analysis, and cash flow assessments on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
- Maintain and update projects in SAP, ensuring accurate Estimates at Completion (EAC).
- Mentor junior team members on program financials.
- Prepare and deliver Integrated Program Management Report (IPMR) deliverables.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Develop cost estimates and pricing data for moderately complex proposals.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis as needed.
- Collaborate across departments to improve financial processes and systems.
- Lead variance report preparation and review with Control Account Managers (CAM).
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 4 years with a Graduate degree. In lieu of a degree, 10 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with COBRA and SAP systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM).
- U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred:
- MBA or CPA.
- Experience managing financials for high-profile programs.
- Familiarity with government contract types, including CPAF, CPFF, T&M, and FFP.
- Certifications such as PMP, EVMP, or equivalent.
- Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
