The ideal candidate will possess leadership experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) or hospital surgical setting with ASC exposure, as well as a strong ability to manage daily operations, financials, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Strategic Leadership
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring smooth clinical and administrative functions.
- Act as a key liaison between the Governing Board, Medical Staff, and all facility departments.
- Provide regular reports on facility performance, challenges, and opportunities.
- Assign a designated point of contact in the Administrator’s absence.
- Guide long-term planning, growth initiatives, and service expansion.
- Lead strategic discussions and presentations with corporate leadership.
Financial & Business Administration
- Implement and oversee operational standards and compliance programs.
- Maintain adherence to internal financial controls and regulatory requirements.
- Optimize staffing levels, budgets, and capital planning for maximum efficiency.
- Monitor cost-effective purchasing and vendor contract negotiations.
- Establish and adjust service pricing based on market trends and cost analysis.
- Ensure compliance with all accrediting bodies and government regulations.
Talent & Workforce Management
- Conduct monthly staff meetings to communicate facility goals.
- Oversee employee hiring, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
- Manage team development, retention strategies, and engagement initiatives.
- Implement structured training, onboarding, and continuing education programs.
- Evaluate and adjust workforce levels based on surgical case volume and efficiency.
Clinical Operations & Compliance
- Work with the Medical Director and Executive Committee to enhance surgical services.
- Ensure adherence to medical, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
- Supervise nursing, medical records, supply chain, and housekeeping operations.
- Monitor surgical and patient care equipment functionality and service contracts.
- Oversee contracted clinical services, including lab, radiology, and pharmacy.
Quality Improvement & Patient Safety
- Develop and oversee continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Lead infection control programs and monitor clinical quality indicators.
- Identify and resolve patient care quality concerns.
- Serve as a key member of the Quality Improvement Committee.
Physician Relations & Medical Staff Engagement
- Manage physician credentialing and compliance with medical staff regulations.
- Work with medical leadership to update and enforce facility bylaws.
- Cultivate positive relationships with physicians to optimize operations.
- Evaluate physician and patient needs to enhance service delivery.
Corporate Engagement & Professional Growth
- Represent the facility at corporate leadership meetings and industry events.
- Stay informed on healthcare trends, legislative changes, and industry best practices.
- Maintain professional affiliations in healthcare administration and ambulatory surgery.
- Ensure all patient, physician, and staff interactions uphold confidentiality policies.
