NATURE AND SCOPE:
Under the direction of the Branch Executive Director, the Community Impact Support Coordinator will successfully lead a team of volunteers and plan, administer and evaluate the Hunger Relief programs. This position is primarily responsible for the management and implementation of the branch hunger outreach programs, including the daily meal program (SFSP/CACFP), meal program for homebound seniors, and the weekly backpack program. This position will play a key role in delivering a quality outreach program in our community and developing relationships that nurture meaningful engagement with the YMCA.
RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):
- Coordinate, train, and supervise staff and volunteers engaged in food insecurity
- Develop and implement a plan to attract and recruit new volunteers
- Conduct pilots for new programs; develop plans and manage best practices through engagement of the staff team.
- Work with the YMCA board of directors to carry out the Y’s mission.
- Lead the hunger relief team in working together with volunteers to deliver a quality sustainable backpack program.
- Monitor and report all hunger relief and branch volunteer statistics.
- Foster a climate of innovation.
- Monitor progress towards branch’s goals by running and reviewing all necessary reports.
- Lead the Y’s presence at community outreach, including being present at community events, business associations and working with our local schools.
- Coordinates marketing efforts to maximize enrollments and provides ongoing support to the Director on related issues.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A high school diploma or higher education
- Preferred, two (2) or more years related to community engagement and volunteer management experience and training and development of high performing teams
- Must have a background in staff team development and relationship management
- Seeks, cultivates and supervises volunteers
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Personal commitment to service and hospitality
Effect on the End Result: This position has a primary impact on the overall effectiveness of the branch and the success of their programs and services to the community. The effectiveness of this position is primarily measured by the sound department administration, the stated satisfaction of staff and members and a sound fiscal position of those departments.
Ergonomics: Sitting, bending, stooping, standing, 15% repetitive keyboard work, seeing, verbal communications, lift up to 25 pounds.
