We perform fire alarm, fire sprinkler, fire extinguisher, backflow, gate, garage, access control, CCTV and intrusion alarm services.
Job Position Description:
Metro is in search of a Fire Alarm Apprentice Technician to join our team! In this position, you will utilize your skills to assist technicians in inspection, installation, troubleshoot, repair and service of Fire Alarm Systems in the multifamily environment. This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in the fire safety field. Once the necessary experience is gained, Metro covers the cost of testing and license expenses. We also provide bonuses upon receiving the license!
Physical Setting and Schedule:
Metro is located in Southlake, TX. Our schedule is Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM with a one-hour lunch.
Responsibilities:
Below are some job responsibilities the candidate will assist with.
- Assist technician with trouble shooting of Fire Alarm Systems
- Assist with system issue documentation and carrying of equipment needed to complete work
- Help fire alarm technician with vehicle supply loading
- Help fire alarm technician with organizing days work load
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to code standards
- Clean and maintain company vehicles throughout the work day
Qualifications:
Below are some job qualifications we would like to see in potential candidates.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Must pass background and drug test
- Working knowledge of electronic and digital test equipment such as multi-meters and digital testers
- Dedication to on the job learning and training during the apprentice period in order to be able to procure Texas state license (FAL)
- Capable of working from extension ladders and step ladders when needed
- Effective in both verbal and written communication
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools
- Able to work in a collaborative team environment
- Strong attention to detail
