The Inspections Supervisor will primarily be responsible for working closely with the Inspections Manager and oversee a group of Lead Inspectors, Inspectors, and Inspectors in training by coaching, developing and sharing knowledge and experience to enhance performance and career trajectory. In addition, the Supervisor will go out and perform field work along with Inspectors. A variety of tasks will be performed, including but not limited to, servicing, inspecting, and testing sprinkler and fire alarm systems to the prescribed standards, identifying code and non-compliance issues to the proposed scope of work and provide quality inspections.
Responsibilities
Supervise a team of inspectors in performing routine inspection, testing, and preventative maintenance
Serve as primary point of contact and ensure customers receive quality customer service
Handle customer service complaints
Lead, coach, and develop Lead Inspectors and Inspectors and effectively address conflict; provide specialized training to each Inspector and trainee
Confirm inspector’s schedules and specific task-related responsibilities daily
Work with Schedule Coordinator, Project Manager, Office Administrative staff, and customers, as needed, to resolve any complications and for clarification of inspections
Lead a team of inspectors to complete medium to large contracts / projects
Perform test and inspect service as needed to achieve department goals
Perform troubleshooting, service, and minor repairs as necessary
Ensure all paperwork is completed with precision and inspectors only perform the work within project scope
Review inspection results with customer during post inspection interview
Ensure complete closeout of work orders and submittal of inspection reports so that the project can be billed in full
Share experience and knowledge with Inspectors who have less knowledge and experience
Responsible advocate of Metro Fire and Inspections Department policies as well as safe work practices
Perform other related duties as assigned or required
Requirements :
Valid Driver’s License
5 years prior work experience
Prior experience working in construction
Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime as needed
Able to carry and move tools and equipment up to 50-70 lbs.
Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions – climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
Ability to analyze deficiencies and provide appropriate solutions
Knowledge of NFPA standards
Ability to explain and discuss setbacks in a candid and honest manner
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Organized, systematic and adherent to deadlines
Excellent judgement and analysis skills
High precision / detail-oriented
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Preferred
NICET Level II FA / SP
CSA Certification
OSHA Certification
Knowledge working in ProfitZoom, Building Reports, and Paylocity
