Job Description
As a Housing Stabilization Specialist/Housing Coordinator, you will provide direct support to individuals and families at risk of losing their housing. You will work closely with clients to assess their housing needs, develop stabilization plans, and connect them with available resources and services. This is a hybrid role, allowing for both remote and in-office work, with some fieldwork to assist clients in navigating housing challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments to identify housing barriers and create individualized housing stabilization plans.
Work collaboratively with clients to prevent eviction and homelessness through counseling, referrals, and advocacy.
Assist clients in accessing financial assistance programs, legal aid, and other community resources.
Maintain accurate case notes and documentation using client management software.
Liaise with landlords, service providers, and community organizations to support clients housing goals.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to program development and improvement efforts.
Requirements
Passion for working in housing support and serving vulnerable populations.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in using case management software and basic computer applications.
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Ability to work remotely and attend in-person meetings when needed.
Preferred Qualifications (Not required, but a plus)
Previous experience in housing stabilization, social services, or case management.
Familiarity with housing laws, tenant rights, and local housing resources.
Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals from low-income backgrounds, those experiencing homelessness, and those with mental health or substance use challenges.
Bilingual or multilingual skills.
Hybrid Work Environment
This role is hybrid, with flexibility to work remotely or from office while also attending in-person meetings, team check-ins, and field visits as necessary. Candidates should have access to reliable internet and be able to work both from home and in the office.
