What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intern - Living History / Education for Fort Nisqually Living History Museum position at Metro Parks Tacoma?
The intern will learn educational programming as it relates to Fort Nisqually, taking part in Living History events, craft and skills demonstrations and program development. The intern will assist with "bringing the Fort to Life" for camps, daily summer visits, and Living History events. The intern will experience what it takes to provide a quality educational experience within a Living History museum.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited four-year college or university with course work in a related field
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing
- Read and interpret accurately and complex material; collect, compile and objectively analyze data; write clear and concise reports
- Must be proficient in Microsoft software applications
- Previous historical research and/or experience working with children in an educational setting is desirable, but not required
- Must have completed two years of college
