What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intern - Curatorial for Fort Nisqually Living History Museum position at Parks Tacoma?
The intern will learn curatorial skills; assist with cataloging (photographing and entering the collection records into a muesum data base). The intern may also assist with artifact conservation in a variety of mediums and work with specialized tours as well as maintenance and care of artifacts on display in period rooms. The intern may learn about and work with the research library.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited four-year college or university with course work in a related field
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing
- Read and interpret accuratley difficult and complex material; collect, compile and objectively analyze data; write clear and concise reports
- Must be proficient in Mircrosoft software applications
- Applicants having a background in history or museum studies will be given priority
- Applicants must have completed at least two years of college
