Overnight Front Desk Agent

Job Summary:

Metro Security Services is seeking a professional and dependable Front Desk Security Guard to monitor and protect multiple residential buildings in downtown Providence RI. The security guard will be responsible for monitoring CCTV systems, conducting hourly interior and exterior patrols, and assisting residents when necessary. The ideal candidate will be highly observant, customer-service oriented, and capable of responding to security incidents in a calm and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

1. CCTV Monitoring & Surveillance:

• Monitor CCTV security cameras to detect and respond to any suspicious activity, unauthorized access, or safety hazards.

• Report and document any security breaches, trespassing, or unusual behavior observed on the surveillance system.

• Ensure that camera systems are functioning properly and report any malfunctions to the appropriate department.

2. Hourly Patrols & Security Inspections:

• Conduct hourly interior and exterior patrols of multiple residential buildings, including hallways, stairwells, lobbies, parking areas, and common spaces.

• Ensure all doors, gates, and access points are secured to prevent unauthorized entry.

• Identify and report property damage, maintenance issues, or safety hazards such as broken locks, faulty lighting, or fire hazards.

• Deter criminal activity by maintaining a visible security presence throughout the property.

3. Resident Assistance & Customer Service:

• Assist residents who are locked out of their units by verifying identity and following proper lockout assistance procedures.

• Provide directions and guidance to visitors and residents when needed.

• Respond promptly and professionally to resident complaints or security concerns.

• Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor when interacting with residents, guests, and property management staff.

4. Incident Response & Reporting:

• Respond to alarms, disturbances, or emergency situations (e.g., fire alarms, medical incidents, or security threats) following company protocols.

• Contact law enforcement, emergency medical services, or property management when necessary.

• Maintain detailed written reports and logs of security incidents, patrol rounds, and resident interactions.

• Enforce property rules and security policies to maintain a safe and orderly environment.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or customer service preferred.

• Strong ability to monitor and analyze CCTV footage for security threats.

• Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.

• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, including navigating stairwells.

• Must be comfortable working independently and making quick, sound decisions in emergency situations.

• Must pass a background check.

• Basic knowledge of access control systems and key management procedures is a plus.

Working Conditions:

• Indoor and outdoor patrols in various weather conditions.

• Sitting, Standing, walking, and monitoring surveillance systems for long periods.

• Overnights, Holidays and weekends may be required.

• Exposure to potential security risks and handling emergency situations when necessary.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
