Job Description:
Metro Supply Chain Holdings USA Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to lead the management and oversight of projects and deliverables as part of the company's major programs implementing new customers and growth platforms. The ideal candidate will have exceptional leadership capabilities and project management expertise to effectively manage the project life cycle, taking projects/programs from planning to final implementation and successful completion.
This role may require extensive travel up to 75% of the time. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing and leading multiple projects simultaneously using PMO methodology, standards, and governance. You will develop the project charter, integrated project plan, resource plan, budget, contingency plan, and related project management artifacts. Additionally, you will lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plans, including risk identification and mitigation.
The successful candidate will be able to plan, establish, and manage all aspects of the project while ensuring that projects are completed on-time, on-budget, and cost-effective. They will provide formal and informal training, coaching, and mentoring, as well as manage contractor/consultant relationships relevant to the project. Furthermore, they will manage and develop assigned resources on the project as part of day-to-day work activities.
This is a fast-paced project delivery environment where you will collaborate with cross-functional internal and external organizations. You will conduct training as relevant or required to project teams, other project managers, or wider teams. Your responsibilities will also include project communication, status reporting, risk management, escalation of issues, acting as liaison between the project team and upper-level management, establishing and monitoring project controls, identifying issues that need to be resolved during projects, facilitating resolution, and escalating more complex issues to the Director, PMO for resolution as required.
To be successful in this role, you will have 5 years of leading teams in transformation, change management, technical integration, and implementation of project management functions. Experience in managing start-up projects, warehousing, and WMS experience is strongly desired. You should also have previous Operations Leadership experience, financial acumen, understanding of budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost control. A track record of overseeing large transformation programs and timely delivering quality projects is essential. Additionally, you will have excellent communication and presentation skills – experience engaging with executives. You should be flexible and self-driven in a fast-paced environment, capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, and having excellent time management skills. Finally, software expertise (WMS, TMS, MS office, Smartsheet, Lucidchart - visio, etc.) is required.
