GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
Metro Technology Centers is accepting applications for a Warehouse/Grounds Assistant who will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance and warehousing of District-owned furniture and equipment and for performing tasks to receive, store, and distribute materials, tools, equipment and supplies for the warehouse operation and ensuring proper grounds and yard maintenance for the District.
Metro Technology Centers is accepting applications for a Warehouse/Grounds Assistant who will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance and warehousing of District-owned furniture and equipment and for performing tasks to receive, store, and distribute materials, tools, equipment and supplies for the warehouse operation and ensuring proper grounds and yard maintenance for the District.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
1. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continuous improvements in services to customers.
2. Supports and assists in strategic planning for developing the Performance Excellence Plan for Metro Technology Centers.
3. Fills requisitions, work orders or requests for materials or items which have been stored in the warehouse.
4. Compares information on requisitions, invoices and shipping notices to material received or issued to verify accuracy of order.
5. Conveys materials and items from receiving to (and distributes from) storage areas by hand or using dolly or forklift.
6. Performs grounds keeping tasks, including determining need and applying sprays; including herbicides, fungicides and insecticides.
7. Evaluates mechanical problems on lawn equipment and tractors and determines work to be done.
8. Compiles and maintains records of quantity, type and value of items received or distributed.
9. Schedules and/or performs maintenance or repair work on lawn equipment and tractors.
10. May drive vehicle to transport items from warehouse facilities to campuses or campuses to warehouse facilities.
11. Sets up equipment and furniture at campus locations.
12. Performs related duties as assigned.
REPORTS TO: Inventory/ Warehouse/ Grounds Supervisor
SUPERVISES: No supervisory responsibility.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-time, 12-month, non-exempt position
EVALUATION: Performance appraisal conducted after probationary period
(180 days) and annually, thereafter.
