Metro is seeking a Receptionist / HR Assistant. This individual would be responsible for providing administrative support to the HR department, maintaining employee records, supporting day-to-day HR activities, and handling all front desk activities.
JOB DUTIES
- Manage the front desk, greet visitors, answer incoming calls, document customer complaints, accept deliveries, and control ingoing / outgoing mail
- Assist with coordinating all procurement processes and paperwork for the HR Department and manage invoices in Metro’s Maximo software
- Maintain badging system by updating or removing security access to doors across all divisions
- Create badges for new hires and replacement badges for current employees
- Manage and fulfill bus pass requests for employee spouses/dependents and retirees
- Maintain and update shared drive by organizing, updating, and archiving HR-related documents such as job descriptions, policies, procedures, employee handbooks, etc.
- Maintain personnel and medical files in compliance with applicable legal and organizational requirements
- Assist with scheduling, pre-employment, and candidate outreach
- Assist with hiring event coordination
- Ensure that employee private and personal information is kept in the strictest confidence, to include but not limited to HIPAA and PII data while also maintaining system security of such information
- Prioritize work in order to meet multiple, recurring deadlines and maintain schedules
- Compose correspondence regarding sensitive and complex issues in a professional manner
- Work effectively as part of a team devoted to customer service

Education
- Bachelor's Degree in HR or related field preferred
Experience
- 3 - 5 years of handling HR administrative tasks and projects required
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Computer Skills
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint skills required
- Paycor Recruiting and Paycor Perform experience is preferred
- Working knowledge of Human Resource information systems and/or data management systems
- Excellent web-based application and internet skills
Certificates & Licenses
- PHR / SPH, SHRM CP / SCP, or certification from a HR-related professional association is a plus but not required
Other Requirements
- Knowledge of current HIPAA laws and regulations
