Fiber Design Supervisor
As a Fiber Design Supervisor, you will be responsible for a team that maintains the record keeping of Metronet’s Fiber to the Home (FTTH) network in a Geographic Information System (GIS) database. You will be overseeing a team that focuses on drafting, corrections to fiber network designs, generating construction reports, and consolidating information from various sources to determine suitability of a given area for construction. Additionally, this role will be responsible for projects that will include expanding our network in new towns, expansions of our services in existing towns, and augmenting our network in areas where demand exceeds our current capabilities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Lead Fiber Design teams by providing exemplary customer support, operations and troubleshoot solutions for FTTH designs
- Overall departmental responsibility of supporting unique FTTH fiber designs, support of construction, verifying proper design functionality, and overseeing training and ongoing support for new and existing associates.
- Maintain high performance levels for design related processes and implement improvement activities wherever necessary
- Ensure systems, procedures, and methodologies are in place to support the fiber design department
- Own escalated issues, coordinate resolutions, and establish effective communication between Fiber Design team and internal stakeholders for review and potential design improvements
- Develop a deep understanding of all fiber design teams and challenges to be responsible for departmental growth and to gain insights of providing world class design and support
- Monitor performance metrics (Progression plan KPIs: quality control, project completion, reliability, and associate skill sets) and provide regular weekly and quarterly KPI reports to management
- Continually review and evolve Fiber Design processes used to track, oversee, and organize project completions
- Partnering with Construction, Sales, Field Operations, and Business Development teams to assist with deploying and supporting new construction growth with FTTH designs
- Document lessons learned and implemented improved best practices and stay on top of industry trends to develop associates and continuous improvement efforts
- Other duties as assigned
Pay Range : $55-60K
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Highschool diploma or GED Required
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
- 1-2 years of Fiber design experience is required with 2 years of experience leading people preferred
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to guide and troubleshoot issues via the phone and written
- Ensure all interactions are handled with quality and the customer experience in mind
- Demonstrated high level of professionalism via email, phone and in-person
- Proven ability to work under pressure and handle high stress environments
