Summary of position:
The Project Coordinator – Project Development and Regional Partnerships collaborates with economic development allies at all levels to attract and grow businesses and jobs across industries. This is accomplished by assisting the other Project Development team members by generating and pursuing leads, working with partners, managing corporate site selection processes, interacting with the other Metro Atlanta Chamber teams and departments and supporting departmental marketing and other initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Supports the Project Development team members by keeping records updated (including team budget in Microsoft Excel and on-line and customer relationship management software – CRM), planning meetings and events, coordinating activities with partners, coordinating the development of marketing materials, helping to create new processes, and interacting with partners and clients. The ability to maintain project confidentiality is critical.
- Generates or assists in generating leads by cultivating relationships with relocation consultants and real estate brokers and working with local economic development entities (e.g. Georgia Power, Georgia Department of Economic Development and local groups). Works with other MAC target industry units to maximize the use of information and expertise. Keeps management leads data bases current. Maintains confidentiality of leads and respective projects.
- Secures new businesses by assisting in or preparing responses to requests for information (RFI), arranging for marketing trips and site visits, and assisting with the facilitation of deal closings through the creation of comprehensive final proposals encompassing real estate solutions, availability of talent and infrastructure availability and competitive incentives, among the most critical factors. Successful pursuit processes require leveraging relationships with economic development allies, local and state government as appropriate and the Chamber member network. Maintains confidentiality of leads and respective projects.
- Build a network of economic development partners at the state and local level as well as real estate brokers and site location consultants and other related service providers inside and outside of Metro Atlanta.
- Learn about Metro Atlanta to be able to answer questions from businesses and their consultants evaluating new or expanded operations in our region.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in business, economic development, public administration, marketing or a related field. Advanced degrees are desirable but not required.
- Must possess a demonstrated understanding of economic development and various industry clusters.
- Basic network of local, state and national site consultants, private and public sector contacts.
- Strong entrepreneurial attitude. Analytical, self-starter, team player. Customer service oriented.
- Ability to establish priorities, multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express ideas clearly, concisely, and effectively. Comfortable with public speaking opportunities.
- Ability to use internet research skills.
- Ability to organize, analyze, verify and present information
- Hands on knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, ambiguous environment.
- Availability for weekend, early morning, and evening meetings and appointments.
- Availability for some travel.
Salary Range: $55k to $65k
Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
