EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate degree in Business Administration or related field and two years of experience in data collection, marketing research, or data management are required. Must be able to approach respondents in a professional manner and properly follow project methodologies and instructions. Must be proficient in conducting on-site personal interviews and telephone interviews. Must possess intermediate to advance level skill using personal computers using word processing and spreadsheet applications. Must be able to read aloud survey questions clearly to be understood by respondents. Must have good oral and written communication skills. Must be able to multitask. Bilingual skills may be preferred to meet specific bilingual staffing needs. Directly related work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis in lieu of educational requirement.
SUMMARY
Responsible for interviewing, conducting market research and collecting transit related data from MARTA patrons in a professional, courteous and confidential manner. Conducts and leads performance audits and inspections of trains, buses, and rail stations to monitor cleanliness, functioning of equipment, and customer information attributes. Utilizes various data collection methods and mobile electronic techniques to accurately collect and record field survey data. Performs qualitative and quantitative research observations and random audits of MARTA facilities. Ensures work quality for timely completion, accuracy and submission.
Serves as a highly visible representative of MARTA and the Office of Research and Analysis and is expected to perform his or her duties in a professional manner. With a “customer service first” attitude always.
Required to travel between different locations within the service area and must be able to work flexible hours and shifts. Work hours may vary including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays. Outdoor position with constant exposure to various weather conditions and elements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads and conducts qualitative and quantitative market research via face-to-face interviews, observations, random audits, and telephone data collection.
- Leads performance audits and inspections of trains, buses, and rail stations to monitor cleanliness, functioning of equipment, and customer information attributes.
- Accurately collects, records and reviews all required data using various mobile electronic technologies by following established project methodologies and guidelines.
- Effectively communicates and interacts with patrons in a professional and confidential manner in efforts to obtain unbiased customer feedback.
- Performs general clerical duties.
- Attends all meetings and research project training as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must have the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Bending, stretching, and kneeling are part of the daily routine. Climbing stairs and the ability to carry 5-10 lbs. of equipment throughout the workday is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to travel between different locations.
