We are currently looking to fill an ASSISTANT SITE SUPERVISOR role at our HECC FAMILY CENTER.
SALARY:
The average starting salary for this position will fall in the range of $50,000 and $60,000 annually. Where candidates fall in this range will be based on skill and experience level.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the Site Supervisor in ensuring that all sites meet DCFS licensing requirements, Health & Safety standards, and NAEYC guidelines if applicable.
- Manages staff ratios, assist in the preparation, training and implementation of funder requirements.
- Ensure coordination of communication with staff, parents, program consultants and community to enhance services to children and families.
- Conducts monthly supervision/coaching sessions with teaching teams on a monthly basis to develop and tracks progress on the individual team member’s Professional Development Plan.
- Regularly monitor program services and accurate data through supervisee reports, Child-Plus/COPA, TS Gold, etc.
- Working with Education coaches, develop systems to support effective teaching strategies and the Creative Curriculum, that are developmentally appropriate and that prepare children to succeed in school.
- Plan and implement training for staff on required DCFS topics, Head Start Standards, NAEYC Accreditation Standards, developmentally appropriate practice, and other topics as determined by staff needs.
- Provide leadership, with the Early Learning Leadership Team in developing and implementing the annual program self-assessment.
- Ensures that family and staff activities conform to agency and center visions as well as the Standards of Conduct policy.
- As stipulated in the agency Code of Ethics, engage in effective interaction with diverse staff and service area populations through ongoing demonstration of non- bias respect and behavior.
- Assist with cross collaboration with other content area specialists and partners in implementing Program Services
- Substitutes as teaching staff when necessary.
- Attends meetings and trainings, as requested, to keep abreast of trends in the various service areas.
- Provides active supervision to ensure the safety of children while in the classroom,
during transitions, and while on the playground. - Ensures that no child shall be left alone or unsupervised.
- Participate in program recruitment efforts to maintain full enrollment.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
- Demonstrated ability to work in teams.
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a complex environment.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or DCFS Director Qualified or ability to obtain Director Credential within 6 months.
- Experience in a 0-5 age setting.
- 2 years of supervisory experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Satisfactorily pass all screening and background checks.
TRAVEL/TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Driving for work required with a personally owned vehicle. Travel between sites required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle, and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, and viewing a computer terminal.
