We are currently seeking Full-time Human Resources Generalist to join our team to provide HR services to various centers in Chicago and DuPage county!
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Communicates with employees and management to ensure compliance with human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
- Counsels and provides guidance to management with regard to corrective action procedures.
- Responds to and facilitates resolution of employee relations issues including but not limited to complaints and harassment allegations. Draft responses to EEOC charges for HR Director review.
- Serves as an expert for recruiting candidates, meeting fill-rate requirements. Uses traditional and non-traditional resources to identify and attract quality candidates. Partners with HR associate/specialist to ensure high visibility on job boards and other resources to attract candidates. Communicates important employment information during delivery of employment offers (i.e. benefits, compensation, etc.).
- Screens resumes, interviews candidates (by phone and in person), administers appropriate assessments, reference/background checking, make recommendations for hire and delivers employment offers for both exempt and non-exempt positions. Manages current candidate activity within HRIS system and maintains all recruitment files.
- Manages application/resume file and retention according to Agency policy.
- Manages internal transfer process including selection and offer.
- Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data and makes recommendations to management team as it relates to corrective action and /or improvement.
- Develops and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external clients to ensure achievement of staffing goals. Collaborate and follow-up consistently with hiring managers and employees.
- Facilitates HR related training and New Hire Orientation to employees.
- Maintains memberships and affiliations with trade/professional organizations related to industry.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required.
- Three years of experience in recruitment, employee relations, benefits and experience in a generalist role required.
- Experience with managing and resolving employee relations issues required.
- SPHR/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SHRM-CP Certification preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational skills, attention to detail, written and oral communications skills.
- Must have reliable transportation as position may require traveling to multiple sites or recruitment events.
- Employment with MFS requires proof of vaccination or an approved Medical exemption, required
- Ability to meet multiple deadlines and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strong working relationships across the agency.
- Fluency in Spanish preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- MFS staff are required to provide proof of vaccination or have an approved Medical exemption prior to starting employment. If an approved Medical is obtained, weekly testing is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch.
- The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing and viewing a computer terminal.
- The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
