We are now hiring for 1 full-time IWC Family Coach to join our Team!
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Creates and manages a one-stop center that provides linguistically and culturally sensitive social service coordination to immigrants and refugees to help them secure needed services through information and referrals, case management and ensuring access to trainings provided through the Welcoming Center.
- Directs those seeking services to emergency and crisis services (e.g. mental health services, food, shelter, etc.) using a strength-based and family centered intake assessment. Ensures proper intake and enrollment, conducts assessments, provides support in obtaining benefits and assistance programs.
- Use of trauma informed practices. Provide immediate referrals, assistance and follow-up for crisis intervention needs.
- Provide case management, connects clients to services, resources, referrals and support based on the individual needs of the families. Works with the full family in a collaborative and supportive manner to help, motivate, and inspire individual and family goal setting while allowing the family to drive the work.
- Coordinate comprehensive assessment of social service needs of clients, develop a written service plan for each case, and ensure case history is documented according to requirements and procedures. Including assistance and referrals, i.e. emergency services, housing, health/nutrition/dental referrals, disability referrals, legal services, and child abuse and neglect referrals, etc.
- Ensures provision and access to Know Your Rights workshops on topics of importance to help immigrants and refugee individuals and families learn about resources and information with the goal of strengthening the capacity of the immigrant community.
- Attends appointments to serve as a support and advocate for individuals, assist in community trainings and workshops, and assist clients in identifying and developing local community resources.
- Cultivates, develops and maintains community alliances that support the work of the Welcoming Center and serve the needs of immigrants and refugees. Establish agreements with community agencies and institutions and coordinate engagement activity into organization of events, workshops, and services.
- Plans and hosts monthly meetings with local services providers to address common challenges shared in the delivery of services to immigrants and refugees, including Limited-English-proficient (LEP) customers, to enhance service effectiveness and improve service coordination.
- Works closely with MFS Intake, other IWCs, LAS, and other community partners to connect IWC clients to resources.
- Monitoring services and assistance provided by staff is documented accurately in the Case Management Database.
- Attends the funder meetings, Community alliance meeting, all staff meetings, and other meetings as necessary.
- Maintains current knowledge in the field, including attendance at seminars, workshops and in-service training programs.
- Ensure that the usage of agency technology, equipment and time are used for agency business and equipment is well cared for.
- All other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Two years experience in case management with migrants, youth, and family service required.
- Bilingual - Spanish required
- Demonstrated ability to render adequate service to clients and to organize and manage job efficiently.
- Must have access to a vehicle, valid driver’s license and proof of insurance to perform essential job functions-required
- Ability to maintain assigned community and Migrant Shelter –based services.
- Ability to work with diverse individuals and groups.
- Must be highly organized and have adequate knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Ability to learn other technology platforms such as Charity Tracker, Sales Force, and RedCap to track data.
- Flexible hours, including at least 2 evenings and one Saturday a month.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch.
- The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing and viewing a computer terminal.
- The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
SALARY:

The average starting salary for this position will fall in the range of $44,000 to $49,000 annually. Where candidates fall in this range will be based on skill and experience level.
