What are the responsibilities and job description for the Metro Action Commission Head Start Teacher 2 position at Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County?
This is a full time, Non-Civil Service position with Metro Action Commission. The Head Start Teacher 2 is under the direct supervision of the Head Start Center Manager and the general supervision of Head Start Assistant Center Manager.
- Help children develop socially, intellectually, physically, and emotionally
- Plan, document, and implement daily lesson plans and special activities
- Attend staff meetings, training and other related meetings as requested
- Responsible for all consultation(s) with parents
- Maintain current records, perform tasks associated with the education component, and assure confidentiality
- Maintain proper supervision of children at all times indoors and outdoors
- Document and implement integration of component events in the classroom (i.e., handwashing, toileting, tooth brushing, preparing children for health services and community visits)
- Report any children concerns to the (assigned) Parent, Family, Community, and Engagement Advocate
- Report suspected child abuse or neglect to the immediate supervisor
- Insure daily implementation of the family style food service
- Support and assist volunteers serving in the education program
- Assume other task-related duties as requested
