What are the responsibilities and job description for the Metro Action Commission Shuttle Bus Driver position at Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County?
- Drive for the Metropolitan Action Commission's Head Start program
- Perform basic maintenance on vehicles as needed
- Deliver meals to assigned centers
- Act as a bus monitor when needed
- Transport children, parents, staff and equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Provide a daily checklist (pre & post inspection) and observe all cleaning schedules
- Observe loading and unloading bus procedures
- Submit a legible Inspection sheet, weekly
- Attend meetings and completes required training
- Demonstrate work habits that comply with agency personnel policy and procedures
- Complete special assignments in a timely manner
- Ensure that children are never left without an adult present
- Assist with other job related duties as requested by your supervisor

Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078. All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.
- Must be able to drive 14-passenger bus
- A safe driving record within the past three (03) years
- Must be in good physical condition to do heavy lifting, standing and bending
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to follow DHS rules and state law when transporting preschool children.
