Under the supervision and direction of the MHS Manager or Team Lead/Lane Captain, the hospital Valet Parking Attendant provides exceptional service to patients and visitors in an attentive, friendly, and efficient manner. In this key role, you will be responsible for parking and retrieving vehicles in a prompt yet safe manner. The Valet will assist patients and visitors upon arrival and departure from the hospital.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Comply with traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.
Professional and helpful demeanor with all patients, visitors, co-workers and clients.
Acknowledges, greets, and welcomes patients/ visitors, using appropriate protocols.
Assists patients/visitors with loading and unloading belongings, providing directions and general assistance as needed.
Before taking any vehicle, assesses and documents any vehicle damage.
Records the location of the parking space as well as the number on the valet ticket.
Explains parking rates and retrieval procedures to patients and visitors upon arrival.
Immediately report any accidents to the manager on duty.
Maintains safe, clean and neat work environment by following standards and procedures.
Maintains strict confidentiality related to work information (in accordance with HIPAA).
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
High School Diploma/ GED and 3 years of driving experience.
Required to have a valid drivers license with no restrictions and present most recent driving record minimum age of 19 years old.
Must be able to perform basic math in relation to American money, understand rates applicable to time passed, and understand 24-hour and military time systems.
Must be able to drive a stick shift (manual and automatic).
Able to speak, read, and write English fluently.
Must be able to work legally in the United States.
Must pass background and drug screening
Required to meet immunization or health screening requirements.
Ability to demonstrate professionalism, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Passion for customer service and attention to detail.
The ability to work flexible schedules and extended hours is sometimes required.
Physical Requirements:
Willingness to work in the elements (heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.).
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Must be able to push and pull (on wheelchair) 100 to 350 pounds.
Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, talk, see, and hear.
Ability to work flexible schedules and extended hours is sometimes required.
