Position Title: MMBC Youth Program Director
Reports To: Assistant to the Pastor
Department: MMBC Ministries
Part-time: The position is weekly and averages 15-20 hours (*on-site & remote hours) *
Pay Range: $350 Weekly
This is an independent contract position.
Job Overview:
The Youth Director will be responsible for guiding children and youth in developing a strong, personal faith in God. This role requires a committed follower of Jesus Christ who is dedicated to fostering a warm, welcoming environment for children, youth, and their families. The overall program development must align with the church's mission and goals.
Through strategic planning, preparation, organizational management, and effective communication, the Youth Director will provide leadership in the spiritual growth and development of children and youth. This includes discipleship, worship, evangelism, community service, leadership training, ministry service, and fellowship activities—all within a safe, engaging, and supportive environment. Additionally, the Youth Director will oversee programs that incorporate recreational activities and social skill development, ensuring a well-rounded approach to faith-based education and personal growth.

The candidate must be capable of planning, organizing, directing, and leading the Children’s and Youth Program Ministry at Metropolitan while staying informed on best practices for youth engagement. Additionally, they should ensure safety protocols are in place for all children’s ministry events and activities.
2. The candidate must demonstrate creativity and innovation in developing programs, activities, and initiatives that effectively engage children and youth.
3. The candidate should have the skills and experience to connect biblical teachings to real-life situations, addressing the questions and challenges faced by youth and their families in today’s cultural landscape.
4. The candidate must be able to engage and communicate effectively with youth and their families, fostering meaningful, lasting relationships while also implementing strategies to attract new families to the ministry.
5. The candidate must be proficient in recruiting, training, empowering, and leading a team of ministry volunteers and stakeholders.
6. The candidate should be comfortable delegating responsibilities to volunteers with clarity and precision, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary resources to succeed.
7. The candidate must actively participate in open communication with key leaders and church staff, keeping them informed about ministry activities, progress, and needs.
8. The candidate must be committed to working collaboratively with parents, ministry volunteers, church leaders, and other stakeholders to build a strong support network for the ministry.
Responsibilities:
The Youth Ministry Program is a collaborative effort between parents, children, youth, church leaders, and caring adults, led by the Holy Spirit, to nurture the spiritual, physical, and emotional development of children and youth.
The Youth Director will be responsible for the following:
- _Program Development: Design and implement a new Children’s and Youth Ministry program that is relevant to the needs of contemporary youth while aligning with the church’s vision and mission.
- _Spiritual Growth & Worship: Regularly review and update age-appropriate worship experiences for children and youth to support their spiritual growth and development.
- _Youth Engagement: Develop an annual youth program event that attracts and retains both MMBC youth and children from the surrounding community.
- _Life Skills Education: Plan and execute quarterly programs to educate youth on practical real-life skills.
- _Bible Engagement: Establish a competitive team program where youth, parents, guardians, or mentors learn and engage with biblical scripture in friendly competitions with other churches in the community.
- _Financial Stewardship: o Create an annual budget projection for youth programs.
o Seek additional external funding sources to enhance program offerings and expand community outreach.
- _Volunteer Leadership: Develop a structured recruitment and training program for volunteers to effectively support the ministry.
- _Community Partnerships: Build and foster new relationships with other churches and youth organizations to strengthen community connections and collaborative ministry efforts.
- _Accountability & Reporting: o Meet weekly with the direct report to discuss weekly progress.
o Submit a detailed monthly report by the 5th of each month.
Qualifications
· A bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or a seminary degree is preferred.
· A minimum of three years of official experience working with youth development programs.
· The candidate must consent to and pass a Background Security Check.
