Description
St. Therese Parish (North), an active, vibrant parish located in Kansas City, Missouri, is searching for a dynamic, faith filled, full time Missionary Youth Ministry Director to help lead middle school and high school students more deeply in lives of intentional faith in Jesus Christ.
This involves being an active member of both the parish and the parish staff and a willingness to go out to where young people are in their faith journey.
This includes leading both a middle school and high school youth program as well as a sixth grade Confirmation program. It further involves working to integrate young people into the life of the parish and identifying, training, assisting and coordinating adult parish youth leaders.
The candidate must be a dynamic, faith-filled, practicing Catholic who relates well to all ages, and collaborates well with others. Must be a highly motivated, proactive self starter and will need to run a multi-comprehensive faith formation program. This includes a willingness to work some nonstandard business hours.
Excellent organizational and people skills required as well as fluency with technology.
Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with a pastor’s letter of reference. Youth ministry experience required and degree preferred.

Communication Requirements:
1–Excellent written and oral communication skills.
2–Expert knowledge and understanding of social networking channels including but not limited to Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Youtube, Instagram, etc. and knowledge of Diocesan policies.
3–Ability to assist with creating and maintaining the youth page on the parish website and communication tools systems.
Office Requirements:
1–Expert computer and internet skills and knowledge of computer programs, including experience using a database, Google Docs, Microsoft Excel, and other Microsoft Office programs.
2–Excellent interpersonal and conversational skills.
3–Ability to flow of documents to and from the office efficiently, including internal and external mail, applications, registrations, and other critical business documents in a timely manner.
4–Exceptional organizational skills including data management system, as well as photocopying, faxing, and filing skills.
Position Specifications:
1–A Bachelor degree (preferably in education, theology, or youth ministry) and at least three years of youth ministry experience.
2–Reports to Pastor and collaborates with other staff members.
3–Successfully complete diocesan background check and safe environment training -Protecting God’s Children. Receive training as a facilitator for Protecting God’s Children and be available to lead sessions.
4–Preferably, experience in Catholic faith formation, Confirmation Programs, and/or related field. Working towards integrating young people into the life of the parish and identifying, training, assisting, and coordinating adult parish youth leaders.
5–To promote vocational awareness, particularly vocations the priesthood and religious life.
6–Proficient understanding of religious formation and sacramental preparation.
7–Proficient in finances, keep track of accounts receivable, and accounts payable. Plan and execute annual fund raisers.
8–Attend and participate in Diocesan youth programs and committees.
9–Serves as a staff representative to parish scouting groups.
