What are the responsibilities and job description for the Escrow Officer position at Metropolitan Title of Indiana LLC?
The Escrow Officer is responsible for reviewing all the information related to the real estate settlement, facilitate the consummation of the transaction and completion of all post-closing procedures. The escrow officer is responsible for communicating effectively with all parties to assist in the real estate closing process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review transaction documentation such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, surveys, trust deeds and contracts that affect property titles.
- Review the title commitment and ensure that all liens, judgments and any items that may cloud title are addressed prior to closing.
- Prepare settlement statements, CPL’s, closing disclosures, and other internal documentation required for closing.
- Communicate with consumers, lenders, real estate agents and service providers to coordinate the transaction.
- Receive and disburse funds related to the real estate transaction.
- Complete and follow-up on all post-closing activities.
