Position Title: Emergency Response, Emerging Talent Intern
Hourly Rate: $19.00 (Undergraduate), $21.00 (Graduate), $22.00 (Post-Graduate)
Overview of Department:
Department of Subways - Emergency Response group is part of the NYC Transit Car Equipment Division. The Intern will be responsible for assisting with the creation of (2) electronic SharePoint databases and achieving the unit's 2025 goals. The intern will obtain analytical and collaboration skills in addition to exposure/experience with software such as Oracle, SQL and SharePoint.
Responsibilities:
Electronic Assets include PCs, printers, mobile devices and radios that may need to be distributed, repaired or reissued. Virtual Calendar is a shared calendar typically used in Microsoft SharePoint.
- Assist in the creation of the Electronic Asset database
- The daily input of data into the Electronic Asset database and coordinating the distribution, repair and replacement of electronic assets during the test period
- Training of supervisory personnel on the use of the Electronic Asset database
- Assist with the creation of the Virtual Calendar
- The daily input of data into the Virtual Calendar during test period
- Training of supervisory personnel on the use of the Virtual Calendar
- Reorganization of (250) employee files
- Daily filing
Projects:
- E Asset Database – Assist with the creation a of SharePoint database for tracking the distribution, repair and replacement of electronic assets (computer hardware, printers, mobile devices, radios etc.)
- V Calendar – Assist with the creation of a SharePoint calendar to capture and track; employees scheduled time off, training, Medical Assessments visits, Hearings etc.
- Reorganization of files.
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must. (Excel/SharePoint/Access/Word)
- The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills.
- The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
- The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player.
Required Education:
Required Education:
- Matriculated in undergraduate in good standing with at least 2.5 GPA or a graduate in good standing with at least a 2.8 GPA.
- Major(s): Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Business Management, or related field.
