Position Title: Material Control, Emerging Talent Intern
Hourly Rate: $19.00 (Undergraduate), $21.00 (Graduate), $22.00 (Post-graduate)
Overview of Department:
MTA Material Services includes managing for New York City Transit (NYCT) and MTA Bus Company (MTABC) all bus parts and non-bus parts electronic cataloging, bus parts manuals, new bus parts provisioning, parts identification, vendor relationship, Units Contract Management and planning, shop rejections, excess obsolete inventory reviews, recycled bus parts program, Units inspection, Salvage operation.
Responsibilities:
- Helping to manage, enhance, and streamline the process for DOB bus parts and non-bus parts electronic cataloging database.
- Reviewing and find discrepancies and duplicates on bus parts manuals.
- Collaborate with team on the new bus parts provisioning; the process of ensuring that DOB has the necessary parts entered in the system to maintain and repair the buses.
- Assist on parts identification for new and current bus parts, not yet identified and stock number not assigned yet.
- Be a vendor liaison and be a point of contact between the department the vendors, managing and resolving issues related to materials discrepancy and information needed.
- Analyze recycled bus parts requirement and submit material replenishment request to the recycle bus program.
- Process shop rejections documentations for wrong or defected material received in the storerooms from the vendors.
- Review and determined excess or obsolete inventory for possible sell award or scrap.

Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
- The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills.
- The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
- The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player.
- Data Analysis, contract management and planning.
Required Education:
- Matriculated in undergraduate program in good standing with at least 2.5 GPA
- Major(s) Preferred: Business Administration
