TA CANDIDATES MUST BE IN A PERMANENT CIVIL SERVICE STATUS IN THE TITLE(S) OF ASSISTANT TRANSIT MANAGEMENT ANALYST IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED OR BE ON AN ESTABLISHED LIST OR HAVE PASSED A CORRESPONDING EXAMINATION.
Responsibilities:
The Staff Analyst plays a critical part in the management and dissemination of confidential and critical medical chart records, including assisting in the supervision and direction of Medical Record Unit's (MRU's) clerical staff and their work/assignments. The Analyst will perform Quality Assurance reviews of MRU work, including ensuring the accuracy and thoroughness of records prior to dissemination to requestors (Legal, Labor Relations, employees, OHS physicians and senior management) and transfer to MTA long-term storage. The selected candidate will perform internal control reviews and annual testing activities of OHS' at-risk activities. On an ongoing basis, the incumbent: confers with employees/all Medical Assessment Centers to ensure medical records are complete and record requests are responded to timely; assists with all matters related to external consultant referrals, including appointment scheduling, follow-ups, resolution of consultant matters, and validation of external consultant invoices; acts as liaison to outside physicians and laboratories to resolve scheduling, evaluation, testing, and invoicing issues; is responsible for bi-monthly reporting of MRU's activities; coordinates high-volume records transfer to long-term storage; coordinates staff absences and assignment back-up; and orders Unit’s supplies. The Analyst will provide guidance and assistance to outside contractors performing digitalization of all existing medical charts and acts as a subject matter expert in the creation of document ID types and activities supporting the development of a medical documentation system. The Staff Analyst will resolve issues as they arise, to the extent possible, with advice and guidance from the Director, Medical Administration.

business or public administration, human resources management, management
science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology,
statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology,
human resources development, political science, urban studies or a Juris Doctor
degree from an accredited law school, and one year of satisfactory full‐time
professional experience in one or a combination of the following: working with the
budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic
or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; in management or methods analysis,
operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; in personnel or public
administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, labor
relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program
planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social
services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management, or in a related
area; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of
satisfactory full‐time professional experience in the areas described in ʺ1ʺ
