ABOUT THE ROLEThe Projects and Grants Specialist position will be housed within the Funding Policy and Programs section at MTC, and will support project managers and grant managers from the San Francisco Estuary Partnership, Chief Operating Officer's Office, and Funding Policy and Programs teams within MTC. The position will support a variety of initiatives ranging from working with transit agency partners on near-term planning efforts to standardizing and streamlining procedural tools for grant management within the Estuary section and providing project and contract management support to the Chief Operating Officer's Office.This position will assist project managers and grant managers with a variety of activities including: invoice review, procurement support, contract preparation, research, grant tracking, and stakeholder coordination. This position will require clear and proactive communication, prioritization, and negotiation as it will support several different project managers simultaneously.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Assist Grant Managers with the following activities: Ensure grant requirements are met Interpret and apply federal, state, regional, and local policies, procedures, and regulationsDevelop templates/checklists for fund source compliance Coordinate with grant recipients on the status of their projectsAssist Project Managers with the following activities: Preparation of contractsInternal and external communicationsProject and event planningScheduling meetings (Microsoft Outlook and Zoom)Purchasing/procurementsRecords managementDeliverables reviewCollect tools/templates and help to document processes
