About the Veterinary Assistant Surgery Role
We are looking to add to our growing hospital and are in search of Veterinary Assistants with approximately a year of experience with dog and cat handling / restraint in a clinical atmosphere to join our Surgery Department. This role will also cross-train with our Sterile Processing Department.
Schedule & Compensation
Schedule : 4 10-hour shifts
Compensation : Starts at $18 / hr
What You'll Do
- Assist Surgical Department in a variety of tasks
- Assist in surgeries, procedures and appointments
- Assist nurses in patient admits and discharges
- Ensure the availability and sterility of instrumentation
- Autoclave maintenance
- Communicate with clients, and team members (verbally and written)
- Patient care responsibilities including laundry, husbandry, walking dogs, cleaning cages
- Perform digital radiographs
- Stocking of supplies in various locations throughout the hospital
- Ensure cleanliness and integrity of the hospital
