Position Summary:
Only work Monday-Friday during the day! Enjoy evenings and weekends at your leisure! Retired? Looking to stay socially engaged and active? Have appointments and personal matters to tend to? We offer split-shift, steady schedules! You can schedule appointments between your am and pm route! Being a Camp Bus Driver with the MetroWest YMCA in Hopkinton and other locations will introduce you to people of all age groups and backgrounds! This position can also help supplement retirements, by providing a financial boost to retirement income!
- Operate school bus to transport authorized passengers to and from camp and field trips.
- Assess traffic and road conditions, monitor student behavior and other factors as necessary.
- Follow all state and federal traffic laws while operating vehicle. Adhere to DOT and state safety and district requirements and standards while operating yellow school bus.
- Maintain proper CDL and state school bus certifications including adhering to state and federal guidelines regarding criminal, medical, drug test and driving records.
- Perform daily pre and post trip vehicle inspections and safety checks as required by company standards and state guidelines.
- Keep records and submit reports as required.
- Sweep, clean and refuel buses.
- Report all mechanical deficiencies promptly.
- Instruct students on safe riding classes and perform evacuation drills as directed.
Qualifications:
- Age 21 & have had a driver’s license for 3 consecutive years.
- Satisfactory Driving Record (no suspensions, etc.)
- Ability to pass a background check, CORI and SORI
- CDL B w/S&P endorsements
- Willing to drive to a variety of locations
- Need to be flexible with last minute changes.
Physical Demands: Employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, and/or reach. Employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
COVID Precautions: MetroWest YMCA is having employees and members wear masks (optional if fully vaccinated), practice social distancing, continuous facilities cleaning, encourage frequent hand washing/use of antibacterial sanitizer, and encouraging COVID vaccinations.
