Geographic locations in which MMSI currently operates include the U.S East, Gulf & West Coasts, and Alaska. The Corporate Office is in Southern California (Ventura) and its Regional Boat Maintenance Center a technically advanced facility in Woodbine Georgia.
How you would make an impact/key responsibilities:
Join the dynamic MMSI team as a Mechanics Helper / Logistics Helper responsible for performing maintenance and repair for the Southeast Region Port Operations for the Navy. This position is located at our Regional Boat Maintenance Center in Woodbine, GA. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Participates in the transport, staging, troubleshooting and repair of Naval Southeast Region watercraft.
- Assist with Logistics procurement and supply inventories. Experience a plus.
- Performs a variety of duties concerned with the operation, maintenance, repair and cleaning of equipment and facilities in the deck and engineering department areas. Duties include scaling, buffing, and painting deck and superstructures; cleaning, washing or polishing decks, passageways, brightwork, machinery, and equipment; and securing cargo
- Positions and secures blocking at bottom and sides of vessels according to size and weight of vessels, using fasteners, hand tools and power tools.
- Assists in examination of installation orders, drawings and vessel maintenance requirements utilizing knowledge based on experience to determine extent of repairs required or modifications necessary for installation of equipment, accessories, and hardware.
- Computer, logistic and administrative skills highly desired.
- Assist in vessel blasting and painting operations. Experience a plus.
- Assists in the replacement or repairs of defective components or assists in fabrication of new components as assigned.
- Any and all other tasks as assigned to accomplish contract performance and maintenance of the facility.

- Valid Driver's License (CDL highly desired)
