What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Assistant position at Metuchen-Edison YMCA?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the IT Director or his/her designee, the IT Assistant will be responsible for the Association support and maintenance of all computers including laptops, servers, and mobile devices. The IT Assistant will also manage the phone system, handle IT systems and the network.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Ensure all health and safety guidelines are strictly adhered to.
2. Provide system administration for MS Office 365, MS Windows, domains, directory and account services, application configuration, user accounts and security systems.
3. Provide support for various IT and administrative related tasks.
4. Troubleshoot hardware, software and network related issues.
5. Provide desktop, laptop and mobile devices support to end users.
6. Software installation and configuration
7. Provide training on various software and hardware products.
8. Hardware installation, removal and relocation to various branches and program sites within the Association.
9. Support and help develop YMCA IT educational programs (i.e. SCRATCH).
10. Develop and maintain inventory details for all IT, fitness equipment, telephone equipment and other organizational items as requested.
11. Maintain and update phone system.
12. Support software transitions as required including, but not limited to, MS Office 365, updating workstations, install software, training, data analysis, review and validation.
13. Provide general IT support to other areas of the organization as needed.
14. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Associate Information System degree or two years equivalent IT.
· Knowledge and experience with MS Office Suite and additional software experience such as Adobe, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and In-design.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills.
· Must be able to read, write and communicate fluently in English.
· Valid driver license with excellent driving record.
· Personal vehicle for travel and moving of equipment.
PHYSICAL REQURIEMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to sit, walk, stand, kneel, bend, push, pull, reach, stretch, lift and move equipment (50 pounds). General office environment with standard office equipment. Lighting and temperate are adequate for traditional office environment. Hours may be adjusted to meet the needs of the IT department, nights and weekends may be required.
