The Preventative Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance and inspections on equipment, machinery, and facilities to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance. This role involves conducting scheduled servicing, identifying potential issues, and making minor repairs to enhance the longevity and efficiency of assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled maintenance on machinery, HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, and other facility-related equipment.
- Inspect equipment for signs of wear, leaks, or malfunctions and document findings.
- Lubricate, clean, and replace parts as needed to prevent equipment failures.
- Maintain records of maintenance work, inspections, and repairs.
- Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting minor mechanical, electrical, or plumbing issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies and report when restocking is needed.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or servicing.
- Provide recommendations for equipment upgrades or replacements.
- Keep work areas clean and organized while adhering to safety guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Experience in maintenance, repair, or a related field preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and technical documents.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, stand for long periods, and work in various environments.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Maintenance experience on typical restaurant equipment such as ice cream equipment, grills, fryers, refrigerated cabinets, and shake machines is required. In addition, individual will need to assist with minor repair work on doors, tile, bathrooms, etc. Work week is 40 hours, but individual needs to be available 7 days a week for emergency calls. Valid driver’s license is required. Individual will need to be able to stand for long periods of time, climb ladders, bend and twist and sit to ensure work is completed correctly. Some overnight travel may be necessary.
