F&B Supervisor
Job Description:
To provide leadership for the restaurant and banquets based on business need. This position champions the best service, product and quality and assists in training F&B staff. This position also requires a “hands-on” approach for all aspects of the front of house areas in the F&B department. This position will directly report to the F&B manager.
Typical Work Conditions:
Restaurant and Banquets FOH operations
Equipment Used:
Computer, telephone, printer, XN POS, trays, silverware, glassware, linens, dishes, bar equipment
Knowledge/Training:
A minimum of 3 years of restaurant and/or management experience is required
High school diploma or equivalent
Good organizational skills for dealing with diverse duties and staff
Essential Tasks:
Open availability is a must including days, nights, holidays and whenever needed
Promote good customer relations and handle customer concerns
To fill in as needed serving, bartending, covering shifts
Motivating; monitoring employee performance
Comply with all health and safety regulations.
Conduct daily shift line-ups and pre-shift meetings ensuring all employees are to standard
Know the meaning of suggestive selling and how to implement these ideas into every day practices
Train staff members when a problem if found how to address it and when
Perform spot checks on staff members to see that they are using what is provided for them
Control labor costs without compromising quality standards
Prepare reports relevant to your department as requested
To assist as needed and be on the floor monitoring service
To act as host/hostess when needed managing the floor
To ensure that side work is completed
To be available for day/night shifts as assigned by department management
Develop individual staff members for future advancement
