Job Description:
As the Chief Engineer at Cambria Hote! South Boston, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing aIl aspects of the hotel's engineering, security and maintenance operations. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth functioning and upkeep of the property's physical infrastructure, systems, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead the engineering and maintenance team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship
- Schedule, payroll and request of the department.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies to ensure the effective functioning of all mechanical, elevators, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and equipment malfunctions
- Oversee repairs, renovations, and installations to ensure compliance with safety and building regulations.
- Develop and manage the departmental budget, monitoring expenses and optimizing cost- effectiveness.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance schedules, minimizing disruptions to guest services.
- Implement sustainable practices and initiatives to reduce the hotel's environmental footprint.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within the hospitality industry or a similar setting.
- Strong technical knowledge of building systems, equipment, and facilities management.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively manage a diverse team.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to maintenance challenges
- Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and relevant software.
