Primary Responsibilities
Data Collection and Analysis:
- Track production data using an ERP system for a variety of job orders, focusing on metrics such as lead time, job cost, machine utilization, and cycle time.
- Analyze historical data and develop forecasts to improve production scheduling and minimize downtime.
- Track job performance against customer specifications and deadlines, ensuring the shop meets delivery commitments.
- Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in production workflows, which may vary between different jobs or projects.
- Work with production teams to streamline processes, reduce setup times, and enhance machine tool utilization.
- Monitor the actual costs of production against budgeted costs and investigate discrepancies.
- Support the analysis of job profitability, ensuring that production stays within budget while maintaining high quality.
- Coordinate with production managers to prioritize job orders, ensuring an efficient workflow based on deadlines and resource availability.
- Use job tracking software (JobBOSS²) to manage job statuses, work-in-progress, and order completion.
- Assess production capacity and assist in adjusting schedules to balance workload across different types of jobs.
- Work with the procurement team to ensure that materials are available for each custom job order.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage the supply of materials to prevent delays, especially in a small-batch environment.
- Optimize the flow of raw materials to minimize production delays due to material shortages.
- Collaborate with various departments, such as engineering, design, and quality control, to ensure that each job order meets customer specifications.
- Provide regular updates to management about job progress, potential delays, and areas for improvement.
- Communicate with customers (when necessary) to discuss custom requirements or delivery timelines.
- Ensure that all custom products meet the required specifications and quality standards.
- Monitor production quality across job orders, addressing any issues in real-time to minimize defects.
- Assist in ensuring that manufacturing operations comply with safety standards, industry regulations, and internal quality protocols.
- 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing/job shop. Experience in Aerospace or IGT manufacturing strongly preferred.
- Experience with project-based or small-batch production and working with a variety of customers' orders is highly beneficial.
- High school diploma or equivalent required- documentation required. Certifications in manufacturing, operations, or project management (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, APICS, or PMP) are preferred.
- Must meet ITAR definition of US Person(s)- documentation required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in the use of job shop software, ERP systems (JobBOSS² or similar preferred), or other data analysis tools.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement processes.
- Good communication skills, able to work with diverse teams and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to handle flexible workflows and adapt to a variety of custom orders.
- Must be able to follow instructions and communicate information to others both verbally and in writing in English.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and communicate. Work in office environment and use of computer (typical 2-button scroll mouse, 3D mouse, and keyboard - 95% of the work day).
- The employee will be required to move throughout the facility. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 35 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment may be loud.
