As a Business Development Representative, you'll focus on driving new business in the Office Moving and Workplace Solutions sectors. You’ll work closely with both the Sales and Marketing teams, with your efforts split between 80% business development and 20% sales-related tasks. Your primary goal is to help build strong customer relationships and support the overall sales process.
- Business Development: Identify and qualify new business opportunities.
- Market Research: Conduct research to find target accounts and new prospects.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with customers to ensure continued revenue growth.
- Prospecting: Actively seek new clients through networking and other prospecting methods.
- Sales Support: Assist in preparing sales proposals, presentations, and supporting the sales team with order entry, RFP management, and customer follow-up.
- CRM Management: Use systems like Hubspot and/or Salesforce to track and manage opportunities.
- Industry Involvement: Participate in relevant industry associations (e.g., Corenet, IFMA, BOMA, CT Construction Institute).
- Achieve Targets: Work towards meeting quarterly and annual sales goals as assigned by the Sales Manager.
- Sales Plan: Develop and execute your personal sales plan to hit your quota.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Sales and Operations teams to ensure alignment and success.
- In-office position with hands-on training and support from a dedicated team.
What you need to be considered:
- Experience: 2 years in selling workplace solutions (e.g., office moving, systems furniture, installation services) or B2B customer service/operational experience.
- Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using CRM tools like Hubspot and Salesforce.
- Personality: A positive, enthusiastic attitude with a strong desire to succeed in sales.
- Organization: Excellent time management, prioritization, and planning abilities.
- Travel: Ability to travel frequently within the mid-Atlantic region.
- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
